Dedicated Safety Department Distinguishes Company

Chicago, IL – March 28, 2020  Diverzify is taking workforce safety and health awareness from standard practice to strategic business function with its dedicated safety department. With a presence and engagement at the highest leadership levels, Diverzify seeks to  ensure that safety is strategically planned and managed in collaboration with traditional core business functions such as finance, sales, and operations.

“Safety is always a priority in our industry, but we see it as an opportunity to make safety a part of our core business”, said Scott Day, Chief Operating Officer for Diverzify. “The safety department has already delivered very encouraging results for our people and our business.”

Driven by data showing that injured workers enjoy better, faster recuperation when they can return to work earlier, the safety department launched a new return-to-work policy that provides condition-appropriate work functions and physician directed accommodations to employees.  Already, the program has driven a reduction in worker compensation expenditures and DART (Days Away, Restricted or Transferred) rates that are below the national average.

“We make it a practice to do the right things for our team members,” said Day. “As our company continues to grow, we want to make sure this philosophy carries forward systematically with great focus and intent.”

Diverzify advocates advanced safety policies, standards, and practices for the commercial flooring installation industry through participation in national safety groups such as the Coalition for Construction Safety.
