When VOA was tasked with designing the Community Hospital’s new Women’s Center, they knew that the flooring had to stand up to the high traffic, commercial setting. As such, the product had to be stain resistant, wear well, and clean easily.
Mannington’s Vivendi Heterogeneous Sheet Vinyl collection met all requirements and inspired the design concept, combining the femininity of fine textiles with the performance qualities needed for durability.
The four floors were separated by alternating the organic perennial pattern as the field and corridor inserts. Soft taupe and gray wall coverings offered a neutral background to the Vivendi design inspired carpet tile, plank, and other finish selections. The light floors contrasted with the dark wood vinyl plank to create the timeless and relaxing spa-like design that the owners desired. The tranquility continued into the nursery area where Mannington Biospec cutouts echoed the botanical images throughout the corridors.
As a final touch, dramatic artwork was mounted in simple, champagne wooden frames to accentuate the botanical images, scenic landscapes, and calming waters and mirror the peace and tranquility of a luxury spa.
